Datasets and Resources

Each Download  link directs the user to a unique open-source shared drive with different types of files. 

  • Subject folders will contain data in two forms: Xsens MVN files that can be used to observe the subject movements via the avatar (visit the Movella Xsens website for software options) and the exported Excel XLSX files containing the raw data for analysis.
  • Analysis folders will contain custom written software using different languages like MATLAB or Python.  Each folder will include a README file that explains how the software is used and which datasets can be analyzed using each tool.

Please cite the provided references (or this website where appropriate) when using the provided datasets or analytical tools.

    2023/2024 Protocol Development Data

    This dataset of 6 Varsity Softball athletes was collected during the Fall 2023 semester and was used to develop the formal testing protocol implemented during the Fall 2024 semester. Each subject performed 10 hits off of a stationary tee and 10 hits against a pitching machine (except Subject 01 who performed 5 of each hit during the initial protocol testing). Subjects 01 and 02 also participated in a second session that featured at-bats against a live pitcher.
